At 46 inches, Samsung offers plenty of choice
For most consumers, by the time they make their way to the electronics store they’ve had ample time to think about what they’re looking for.
It’s going to be a TV, and kind of a big one. Somewhere between 42 and 55 inches, which usually means a 46-incher is in the works.

The right HDTV takes gaming higher
As high-definition televisions become more commonplace, many manufacturers have taken steps to make sure their products are tailored to the needs of a diverse audience.
More recently, a number of companies have offered “gaming” versions of their standard HDTV models. They feature things like “picture enhancers” and “advanced processing power” to make sure the game is displayed in glitch-free high definition.

In the early days of high-definition plasma, Pioneer quickly emerged as the the market leader. It had the technology, the resources and the marketing power to cement its place at the head of the table.
Fast-forward a few years, though, and Pioneer is on the verge of leaving the plasma-screen industry. For the past couple of years, the company has partnered with Panasonic on its flat panels.

When high-definition television first became a part of public consciousness a few years ago, plasma was the trendsetter. With brilliant colors and hefty price tags, it was the object of many affections.
Lately, though, LCD has become the standard-bearer for the HDTV industry. Inexpensive to manufacture, LCD (short for liquid-crystal display) is energy efficient and lightweight.
