5 Stars Entirely Pleased
As a person that takes literally months of time trying to decide the best purchase for his money, this one really should have been a no-brainer.
Just about everything about this television is fantastic. The picture is crisp and clear. And even the built-in speakers sound great.
The only negative mark I’d give this TV is actually its remote control. It’s not great. The click wheel is difficult/annoying to use. And it’s not programmable, so it can’t be made to work with my Comcast cable box.
But overall, this was a purchase I’m completely satisfied with and would recommend it to anyone looking for a TV of great quality at a reasonable price.
5 Stars Perfect TV and Great Service
My TV just arrived yesterday, so I have not had too much time to play with it, however, the initial comment I would make is that its absolutely perfect. The picture is top notch, especially for those channels that broadcast in 1080i. Couldn’t be happier with the TV.
My experience with Amazon was also great. I bought the TV on black friday, the day after the price had dropped by $100, and Amazon was kind enough to refund the difference in price with absolutely no hassles. The entire conversation with their service rep took less than 5 minutes.
The delivery service was also great. My TV was shipped first to Pilot, who then handed it off to Meyer as Pilot does not deliver TVs larger than 52 inches. The people at Pilot and Meyer were very helpful and I was able to pick a window when I would be home with ease. The two guys at Meyer brought the TV in, took it out of the box, and placed it on the stand. As it was cold out they recommended I wait for the set to come to room temperature before turning it on, so I did not test it. As a result of that I held on to the packaging, which they would have taken away if I’d asked. They were in and out of the house in about 5 minutes.
Altogether this is a great purchase for anyone on the fence. Great product, fantastic service and delivery.

This TV is simply great. it replaced a Sony 40″ 1080p XBR LCD – and I have to say that this Samsung’s picture is quite a bit better (of course the screen is also a lot larger). the reflective screen is not a problem – I have it in a room with a lot of windows. Picture is amazing with both HDTV (Dish Network) and Bluray (Samsung BDP1500). SDTV and regular DVD is also good. This TV is a great deal.
4 Stars Great Television – Great Customer Service by Amazon!!!
I purchased this set from Amazon and received it very quickly. The shipper – Pilot – sent one person to deliver the tv, first thing in the morning, and did not take away the packaging, which was part of the white glove service offered by Amazon. That turned out to be a good thing. Exactly 7 days after receiving the set the problems began, starting with the sound, which would go to zero by itself, constantly. When viewing a dvd the sound “slide” would show on the screen and would “ping” constantly. Gradually I couldn’t shut off the set and had to unplug it. I contacted Samsung, who sent an email to a service shop 45 minutes away and in another state, then contacted Amazon. AMAZON WAS WONDERFUL! Samsung was not. The first service shop never contacted me … no, correct that, they contacted me 2 weeks later. After much pestering, Samsung contacted another service shop, now 15 minutes away and in the same state. They didn’t contact me either – ever. After emailing Amazon each day – and promptly receiving a response – they agreed to replace the set. I kept watch of the shipping status and, when I found it had arrived at Pilot, I called regarding setting up a delivery. They advised that they now had a third party delivering the set. That afternoon they called and set up a delivery time for the next morning. They arrived on time – and this time there were three delivery men instead of the 1 Pilot sent. Additionally, since it was the first thing in the morning, and being New England and very cold, the set-up man advised that they couldn’t test the set as it was unadvisable to turn it on. When queried, they advised that since it was under 50 Degrees (it was probably around 25 outside) and the set was obviously cold (you could condensation around the edge of the screen), it was unsafe to turn it on until it had warmed to room temperature. Smart man! I believe this is what ultimately fried the circuits on the first set. We waited until afternoon and turned on the set. It worked just as the first had – beautifully. 16 Days later there are no problems with the set, except one slighly frustrating problem. When turned on early in the morning the sound can be intermittent. I found if you turned the set off, counted to 10 and turned it back on, it was fine. When turned on later in the day there isn’t a problem. Is it annoying? Can be, but the overall joy with this set is more than worth it. Watching blu-ray dvds is totally awesome. For that matter, watching anything on this set is a joy. Also, the tv sits about 16 feet from the picture window in our living room, which has morning sun. While you can see a reflection, we found it not to be a problem at all. Very surprising – our last set was a very good Sony and the reflection issue created a problem in viewing tv during the day. Would I recommend this model? As a very annoying governor from one of our northern states would say, ‘you betcha’!
